Introduction
On July 1, 2025, NVIDIA unveiled Omniverse Nexus, a cloud-to-edge orchestration layer that lets autonomous AI agents collaborate on 3D simulation, robotics, and industrial design workflows. Positioned as the “control plane for industrial AI,” Nexus extends NVIDIA’s Omniverse from a design platform into a full agentic ecosystem.
“We’re moving beyond static simulation—Nexus enables dynamic, goal-driven AI across digital twins, robots, and human teams,” said Rev Lebaredian, VP of Omniverse and Simulation at NVIDIA.¹
Omniverse Nexus provides real-time agent communication, task coordination, and memory persistence. It’s designed for sectors such as advanced manufacturing, logistics, and infrastructure, where AI must operate in sync with physical processes and digital replicas.
Why it matters now
- AI agents are becoming multi-modal collaborators in physical industries.
- Nexus bridges LLMs, simulation engines, and real-world robotic control.
- NVIDIA consolidates its leadership in industrial metaverse tooling.
Call-out: AI agents can now co-design, co-drive, and co-build
Early deployments show Omniverse Nexus reduces engineering iteration time by 38% in factory automation scenarios.
Business implications
- Manufacturers can deploy agents that debug machines, simulate assembly, and optimize yield in real time.
- AEC firms can use Nexus to simulate urban infrastructure with human-AI design loops.
- Autonomous robotics gain a cross-agent operating layer to coordinate motion, tasking, and adaptation.
Omniverse Nexus integrates with NVIDIA’s Isaac Sim, CUDA-accelerated LLMs, and Jetson-based edge devices. The launch includes SDKs and connectors for Unity, Unreal, Siemens, and Hexagon platforms.
Looking ahead
NVIDIA plans to introduce self-assembling workflows, where agents discover and compose new capabilities at runtime. Analysts expect Nexus to become the backbone of AI-driven Industry 5.0.
McKinsey forecasts that by 2028, over 60% of factory floor decisions will be influenced or made by autonomous agents.
The upshot: With Nexus, NVIDIA shifts from powering AI models to enabling them to work together, transforming simulation into synchronized intelligence.
